Eltingville Lutheran School Robotics is an engineering program designed specifically for children in grades 5-8. Students design, build, and program robots to perform various tasks. Robotics programs build science, engineering, and technology skills in a setting that fosters self-confidence, communication, and leadership. Many high schools have recently begun robotics programs where students can build upon the skills they have acquired at ELS.
Eltingville Lutheran has a team that competes against other robotics teams in the metropolitan area. In 2011, the ELS Eagles earned 2nd place in the research part of the Staten Island elementary school competition which qualified the team to compete at the Javits Center in NYC.
